21 Things I’ve Learned in 21 Years

Recently I was reading this Tumblr blog I had in high school. It had a fair amount of followers, enough to the point where I thought I could give advice, I suppose, because I had this post called “17 things I’ve learned in 17 years.” It was ridiculously fun to look back at my priorities as a 17-year-old (they’re mainly about being emo with relationships, or school, or confidence, or just emo in general).

It used to be a trend on YouTube, might still be, and I do love the idea of it. So here I am, four years later, doing it again.

Five Things: April 24th 2021

Hello everyone! It feels like long time no talk, which it kind of has been. Unfortunately I got unexpectedly busy this week as I was ill, and studying for my exam Thursday took more brainpower than expected. Nevertheless, I am back and ready to begin writing the posts again. It’s a shame too because I was quite excited for the posts this week, but I’ll just push them back to next week (hint: it’s ~Taylor week~ baby)!

Personal

Being a fan of the Ottawa Senators

I was not an athletic child. Sure, I dabbled in tennis, soccer, and badminton, but never seriously, and my use of the word ‘dabbling’ here means ‘played once in a while just to mention in this post.’ Naturally, I got older and more sedentary, which meant that my minimal interest in sports was over out of elementary school… until my senior year of high school.

Commentary

Commentary: 5 Books I Read in Q1 of 2021

I read a lot of books. (Unfortunately, I’ve never tracked all the books I read, though that’s definitely a goal of mine for second quarter.) I’m not the most adventurous person when it comes to reading books–I like what I like, as I am in every other aspect of my life. However, I’m trying to make a real effort to read books in different genres this year and power through my reluctance.

This has been made a lot easier by the fact that I have now joined a few book clubs, which I highly recommend doing. I’m trying to make a real effort not to suggest any books that I want to read because I’ll read the books I want to read, but I want to ‘expand my horizons’ and read some new books. That’s been successful so far, and I thought I’d write a quick snappy commentary post on 5 standout books I’ve read in the first quarter of 2021!

Five Things: April 10th 2021

Happy April 10th, everyone! I hope everyone is enjoying the warmer weather and feeling the promise of spring. Hopefully it’ll be a better spring than last year, leading to a better summer than last year as well.

It’s almost been two months since I’ve had this blog, which is just so fun. This blog brings me a lot of joy, because it’s a place where I can write my semi-structured thoughts. Without further ado, please enjoy the recap of my week!

The Year of Yes

The Year of Yes: Month One

It’s still kind of surreal to me that I embarked on this journey about a month ago, and I’ve actually kind of stuck with it? I’m someone who loves beginning things… I’m always coming up with new ideas. The harder part for me is actually doing them and finishing them. Nonetheless, I’m ready to write my one month update of my Year of Yes.

I’ve decided that the best structure for these posts is to write about each challenge, how it went, my thoughts, and then how I feel about the whole thing overall. That way, we can look at the micro but also zoom out to look at the macro.

Five Things

Five Things: April 5th, 2021

Well, hello friends. It has been a while.

In the craziness that is midterm period, I neglected my blog for a while 🙁 But fear not, I am back, and I feel ready to write my little fingers away after my break! While I was gone, I thought of some topics I wanted to write about, as well as my ‘vision’ for this blog, and as a result I am very excited to continue posting on this blog.

Originally I was going to write about the past two weeks but I honestly don’t remember what happened because my memory is that bad, so it’ll be five things for the past two weeks. Hey, it can’t have been that important if I don’t remember it two weeks later.

My 5 favourite 2000s chick flicks

If you love 2000s chick flicks like I do, this was a tough list to put together, but someone had to do it. Originally this list was going to be 10, but I thought I’d make my life harder and write my top 5 to make sure they were really the top tier. Also, this is not a ranking because that would be even tougher, so instead these are in order of release dates.
